Things to do

While many guests prefer to simply relax and stay at Skyfarm, there are a number of interesting and beautiful places to explore in Kangaroo Valley and the surrounding areas.   The information centre, located at the southern end of the council car park on the eastern side of Moss Vale Road has a large format map that shows the local picnic areas, walking trails and dams.   Skyfarm is just 10 km or so from the beautiful Tallowa Dam, the start of several well marked walks.

Skyfarm’s large deck with its views over the mountains to the waters of Jervis Bay is the perfect spot for a private yoga class. There are a number of wonderful yoga teachers in the Valley and neighbouring areas that will join you for a private class. And if you’re after a massage in the privacy of your room, we can organise that too.

If you feel like being active, the tennis courts behind the Ambulance Station can be hired from the general store while Kangaroo Valley Canoes offers a choice of wonderful canoeing experiences that take in the beauty of Bendeela, Tallowa Dam and the Kangaroo Valley River.

Fishing enthusiasts will find a number of great spots in the Valley but it’s essential you purchase a fishing licence before you do.   You can get this, along with bait worms and supplies, from Kangaroo Valley Rural Supplies, located in Jenanter Drive.

The Village of Kangaroo Valley offers a choice of cafes, restaurants, antique and homewares shops, a delightful nursery and The Friendly Inn, our local pub.

If the ocean is your thing, in less than an hour you can drive through the quaint town of Berry on your way to Seven Mile Beach, Shoalhaven Heads and the other beautiful beaches the region offers.

If you’re interested in the history of Kangaroo Valley, the Pioneer Museum Park is open 10:00 am to 4:00 pm most days, showcasing a dairy, forge, school house and settler’s cottage. The Museum Park also offers BBQ facilities and seven hectares of superb bushland with bushwalking tracks.

The majestic waterfall at Fitzroy Falls is a must-see for any visitor to the Southern Highlands.  The Falls are about 30 km from Skyfarm, back up Barrengarry Mountain toward Sydney.
